Come be a part of the Pride Camping Village!

Camping Guidelines:

Please read these definitions carefully to have a positive experience at the gate, and avoid any unexpected charges.

The Salt Spring Pride Festival “camping party” definition states:

  • At least one member of the party must be 19 years of age or older.

  • A maximum of four persons including children (12 years of age and under).

  1. Campsite/camping party may have ONE of the following:

  2. a tent (when setting up your tent, please ensure at least one foot of clear ground space all around your tent in case of emergency to allow first responders to safely assist you and/or your neighbour); each additional tent over and above your one tent will cost an extra $30 per tent per night (paid on site); OR

  3. a motor vehicle towing a trailer designed as an accommodation for camping, e.g., 5th wheel, travel trailer, tent trailer; OR

  4. a recreational vehicle (RV), e.g., motor home, camperized truck/van; OR

  5. a RV with a legally towed motor vehicle; OR

  6. a motor vehicle or RV towing a trailer not designed as an accommodation for camping, e.g., utility/cargo, or boat trailer.

  • Includes full access to the site including the Dance for all 4 days of the Festival for all 4 people.

Once inside, vehicles must not be moved except when vacating the campground. There are no in/out privileges.

For the Pride Camping Village, motor vehicles not designed as an accommodation for camping, e.g., car, truck, SUV, non-camperized van, or motorcycle must leave the Pride Camping Village after setting up their campsite. Parking is provided adjacent to the grounds, free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis to campers, staff and volunteers.

ALERT. Gates are closed to new camping arrivals from 11pm to 7am. This is also considered “quiet time” so please respect other campers’ right to enjoy a peaceful camping experience.

Hook-ops/electrical service is not available. There are drinking water taps on site in two locations only.

Generator use is permitted between the hours of 9am – 11am. and from 6pm – 8pm. This policy was created to help reduce air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, fuel consumption and noise levels.

Smoking is allowed in designated areas only - strictly enforced - this is an Island and very vulnerable to fires.

Food and Meals:

Lots of options! Camp stoves are allowed, no open fires. Prepare your own meals and join spontaneous potlucks with your neighbors. Support our Food Trucks on site. Visit local restaurants. As there are only 2 water taps on site you may want to wash up at your site, while being ecologically minded. Try to pack out what you pack in, as much as possible. This is an Island and removing garbage and compost comes at a high price.

Checking In and Checking Out:

Arriving Thursday: Please check in after 1pm Thursday, and before 11pm when gates close for the evening.

Arriving Friday or Saturday: Gates open at 9am and close at 11pm.

Departing on Friday, Saturday or Sunday: Please vacate the site no later than 11am on your departure day. We appreciate that you check out on time as staff must prepare the campsite for the next occupants. Please leave your site clean. Thank you!

Our Pride Pet Guidelines follow the BC Parks Policy:
